Get the look of stone, brick or slate for less. Stamped concrete adds color and texture to patios, walkways and driveways.

Stamped concrete is poured, colored and pressed with a pattern while it is still wet.
Stamped concrete is regular concrete that is colored and pressed with a pattern while it is still wet. Done right, it looks like stone, brick, slate or wood for much less than the real thing.
Popular patterns include slate and flagstone looks, cobblestone and brick, ashlar (squared stone in mixed sizes) and wood plank. Some patterns look best on large open areas like patios, while others work well as borders or on walkways.
Think about the style of your home. Stone and slate patterns suit most Texas homes, brick works well with traditional houses, and wood plank can be a great fit around a pool or deck area.
Stamped concrete usually has a base color and an accent color. The base color goes into the concrete, and the accent color is added on top so the texture of the pattern stands out, just like real stone has darker edges and grout lines.
We go over pattern and color options with you at your free estimate so you can pick a combination that matches your house, roof and landscaping.
After the site is prepped and the base is compacted, we pour the concrete, reinforce it with rebar, and bring it to a smooth finish. Then, while the concrete is still soft, our crew presses the stamping mats into the surface section by section.
Timing is everything. Stamp too early and the pattern will not hold; stamp too late and the concrete is too hard to take the texture. That is why stamping is a job for an experienced crew.
Pavers are individual pieces set on sand. Over time they can shift, sink and let weeds grow up through the joints, especially on North Texas clay. Stamped concrete is one solid surface, so there are no loose pieces to move and far fewer gaps for weeds.
Pavers can be easier to patch one piece at a time, while stamped concrete gives you a seamless look with less ongoing maintenance.
Stamped concrete works on patios, walkways, driveways and pool areas, and as a decorative border around standard concrete. Mixing finishes is common: a stamped border on a broom-finished driveway, or a stamped patio connected to a plain walkway.
A border is a good way to add curb appeal while keeping the project budget down.
Sealer protects stamped concrete and brings out the color. Most stamped concrete should be resealed every few years, depending on sun, traffic and weather.
Between sealings, regular sweeping and rinsing is usually all it needs. Clean up oil, grease and leaf stains quickly so they do not set into the surface.

DFW Solid Concrete has restored a lot of my faith in contractors. Absolutely some of the best I’ve ever encountered. They also had to keep my neighbors happy, and they managed that as well. It was, after all, a full driveway and sidewalk in small spaces. Excellent work ethic. Excellent finished product.
DFW Solid Concrete is by far the best contractor I've worked with. They've replaced my patio in my Plano's house. The process was straight forward: timing, expectations, and pricing were all communicated clearly. I was expecting delays, last minuth difference in pricing but they have done exactly what they said they will do and were so professional. Definitely recommend them and will use them again!

Any smooth, sealed surface can be slick when wet. Textured patterns help with grip, and a slip-resistant additive can be mixed into the sealer for extra traction around pools and steps.
Stamping happens while the concrete is wet, so it is done on new concrete. If your old slab is in bad shape, replacing it with new stamped concrete is usually the best option.
