Cracked, uneven or sinking walkway? We replace it with a smooth, level path that is safe to walk on and looks great from the street.

Shifting soil and tree roots move walkway slabs over time, creating trip hazards at your front door.
Your walkway is the first thing guests walk on and the first thing buyers notice. A cracked or uneven path is a trip hazard and makes the whole house look tired.
Walkways are narrow and lighter than driveways, so they move more easily when the ground shifts. Expansive North Texas clay, tree roots and water draining off the roof all push sections up or let them sink.
When one slab rises above the next, you get a lip that catches toes. These raised edges are one of the most common reasons homeowners call us.
If a walkway has only a few small, stable cracks, it may not need anything at all. But when sections are sinking, tilted, broken or lifted by roots, replacement is usually the long-term fix, because the problem is underneath the concrete.
We will look at your walkway at the free estimate and tell you honestly what it needs.
Many older walkways are narrow, which makes it hard for two people to walk side by side or to roll a stroller or wheelchair. Replacing the walkway is a great time to make it wider.
You can also change the route: curve it through the front yard, connect it straight to the driveway, or add a path to a side gate or backyard patio. We set the forms to your layout before pouring, so you can see the shape first.
We tear out the old walkway, grade the area so water drains away, compact the base and reinforce the new walkway with rebar. That gives the path even support so it stays level instead of shifting at every joint.
If tree roots caused the problem, we will talk with you about options to keep them from lifting the new concrete.
A broom finish is clean, simple and slip-resistant. Stamped walkways can match a stamped patio or give your entry a stone or brick look, and a stamped border is a nice touch on a standard walkway.
Matching the walkway to your driveway or patio makes the whole front of the house look planned and finished.
You can usually walk on a new walkway after a day or two. Keep heavy equipment, carts and vehicles off it for longer.
To keep it looking good, sweep and rinse it from time to time and make sure gutters and downspouts drain away from the path.

DFW Solid Concrete has restored a lot of my faith in contractors. Absolutely some of the best I’ve ever encountered. They also had to keep my neighbors happy, and they managed that as well. It was, after all, a full driveway and sidewalk in small spaces. Excellent work ethic. Excellent finished product.
DFW Solid Concrete is by far the best contractor I've worked with. They've replaced my patio in my Plano's house. The process was straight forward: timing, expectations, and pricing were all communicated clearly. I was expecting delays, last minuth difference in pricing but they have done exactly what they said they will do and were so professional. Definitely recommend them and will use them again!
